this may be something I do a lot or this will be something I barely do BUT, we’re gunna try this out to see where it goes.
hi everybody!
welcome to the DOGBARK.. this will be a blog that i’ll try and update as much as possible. talking about anything involving thishellwithyou. such as upcoming shows, new music, new album (👀) and anything/everything in-between.
so, what have we been up to?
first, we started this website! I thought it was finally time to sit down and work on a website where we can have everything all in one space. have shows, updates, music, just EVERYTHING. this makes things a whole lot easier than telling people “hey, just go to our instagram, then click this link to get to this link…” ITS TOO MANY CLICKS! telling people to just go to this website I think is gunna be way easier.
second, we’ve been working on ep 1.5 and album 1. yeah, we’re working on two projects at once. you may have seen us talk about this in our stories on instagram a while ago, just a few small clips of us working on songs. I did get a few questions about why we’re calling it EP 1.5, and thats because it is a 3 song EP, and 2 songs we’re originally on the first EP. we’re re-recording imsotired. and twothousandyears. as we have re-worked these songs so much since I originally recorded them back in 2023. it felt so weird thinking that people would be listening to the EP version then come to a show and hear a very different, heavier version of the songs. i’m personally a huge fan of songs being slightly different live than from the recording, but this was honestly a bit too much of a difference. so we decided to work on a re-release of the two songs since it also seems to be on trend at this point.
we are also adding a song that hasn’t been released called hauntyou.. funny enough this song almost made the live set, but we just couldn’t get it right in rehearsals so we took it out. we still love it though and thought it would be nice to finally release it to the world. it’s very different from the rest of our songs as its actually… happy? weird I know but its definitely more upbeat and happy than anything else we have. the song is about haunting my husband after i die BUT weirdly enough still happier. maybe we’ll play it live once the ep is released, or it’ll only live on the internet. only time will tell.
though EP 1.5 is being worked on, we are also slowly getting our ducks in a row to start working on our first LP. we’re currently sitting at 8 songs for the album, some songs closer to being done than others, but the ideas are there and we’re slowly working our way through. one song that’ll be on the album is CHOKE which if you’ve seen us live you’ve definitely heard. CHOKE is really cool to me as this was the first song we worked on as a band together instead of just me bringing a song to the band. I don’t remember what started it but it was cool to just sit down in a room and work out the ideas together. it really was a pivotal point in the band where we started to figure out the direction we wanted to go in. a heavier, more post-hardcore/emo vibe that we’re sitting in now. it’s also the first song that I specifically wrote screams for instead of just adding them on as texture. hell, I really only learned how to scream a bit over a year ago just fucking around in the rehearsal spot, a little before our first show, so now having them as an integral part of our songs feels really cool and honestly can say im proud of myself for that. i’ll put the demo just below this post so yall can check it out.
but anyway.
all of that to say, we’re working on an ep, we’re working on an album, and oh- we’re playing a show in Toronto! that’s honestly fucking crazy. this will be my first time playing a show in Toronto EVER. so put me down for excited and fucking scared. if you’re in Toronto, check out the website for a link to tickets! it’ll be sick to see you there!
